Donate, sell, or trash before boxing. This saves money and makes unpacking easier. 2 ### Create a Packing System Color-code boxes by room (blue = kitchen, green = bedroom). Number each box and keep an inventory list. Pack one room at a time to stay organized. 3 ### Pack an Essentials Box Keep separately and accessible: toiletries, medications, phone chargers, snacks, important documents, change of clothes, basic tools, pet supplies, and kids' comfort items. 4 ### Label Boxes on Multiple Sides Include room destination, contents summary, and fragile warnings. Label top AND sides so you can read them when stacked. This speeds up unpacking dramatically. 5 ### Set Up Essentials First On move-in day, prioritize: make beds, set up bathroom basics, organize kitchen essentials. You need to sleep, shower, and eat before doing anything else. 6 ### Unpack Room by Room Finish one room completely before moving to the next.
